It's been a rollercoaster ride since the last update
here. Recent activities have been updated on our Blogspot
though regarding our Progenstein's Halloween Bash,
so I won't go into much detail here. Please check
it out. I will say we had such fun! A big thanks to
Sons of Nothing for performing a fantastic opening
set. There's a bunch of photos of both the show and
the cool costumes many of the audience members wore
on my photo
website. There's also a very fun customized video
we made for our take on Monster Mash on our YouTube
station.
After
the Halloween Bash a few of us performed in the 5th
Annual Colorado Prog Music Fest. Jamie, Gretchen and
I did an original piece entitled Lunar Jam aka Prog
Fest Space Out, which opened the Fest. What a blast!
As
a way of saying thanks to all for the support over
the past year and Happy Holiday's from the Pindral
family, we are offering two free MP3 downloads. The
songs can be found in our music
section. The first is our opening number at Progenstein's
Halloween Bash. It's an all improvised piece called
Usher Jam. The second is the Lunar Jam described above
from the Colorado Prog Music Fest. So, hope you enjoy!
There's almost 30 minutes of music there which explores
Pindral's improv/jam/space rock side.
Finally,
plans for next year include
starting the recording process for our first CD. Stay
tuned!

Joe

who will be involved in a Blue Oyster Cult Tribute
night on Thursday,
September 20th.
See our Blogspot
for more details!

Our next
show after the one above will be on Friday, October 26th at The
Oriental Theater. We are pleased to announce that
Sons of Nothing
will join us again. They will be performing mostly
original material. We have been working on new material
as well. The show will have a Halloween theme. Please
join us!. More details to come.

Blog,
Blog, Blog. We've joined the blog scene. Goal of this
blog is to allow individual band members to interact
anytime they feel the need to post some thoughts,
news, photos...stuff like that. We'll still carry
the main "Pindral News" and
announcements here, but hopefully the blog will offer
more not-so-formal view into all things Pindral.
Check it out here: Pindral
Blog
Also,
we are pleased to announce Scott Pringle is back in
the mix adding his wonderful percussion and vocal
skills.
Welcome back Scott!
Lastly,
we'd like to thank all the folks who have visited
our MySpace
page and taken the time to listen to our live tracks.
We appreciate all the positive feedback we've received!

We
are proud to offer the first full-length samples of
our original songs in an “official bootleg”
manner. These were recorded at The Oriental Theater
back on March 11, 2007. The recording method was with
live room mics so what you hear is pretty much how
it came across to the audience.
Pindral
original tunes:
Metro Spacial Groove - Rhythmic
song that will take you on a trip...on the Metro.
Features Gretchen’s soulful vocals. If you don’t
feel like dancing, do the butt boogie.
First Thunder - Relates the emotional
ebbs and flows of the first thunder storm of the year.
It’s a mini-epic of sorts.
Dark One - Heavier and angular composition
with glimpses of brighter things to come.
Avalanche - Fun, upbeat tune with
a story of a magpie who inadvertently starts a catastrophic
act of nature.
Please
visit our
MySpace page to listen: (Please keep
in mind due to MySpace's file restrictions audio files
are somewhat compressed)

It's
been almost two weeks since the show...seems like
yesterday! We had a blast and felt pretty good about
our performance. Sons of Nothing kicked-ass with their
set as well. Wow, those guys are good. Thanks guys!
We were pleased to see so many people at the show
on a Sunday night. Our heartfelt appreciation to everyone
who came out and to The Oriental Theater's staff for
their hard work.
We've
been going over video and audio over the last several
days and feel we just might release a live "Official
Bootleg" EP CD-r of our original material performed
that night. Samples should be available here in the
near future. Stay tuned. There will be new videos
too.

Rehearsals
have been going well and we are very excited with
our progress, but there's still some work ahead so
that we can perform our best show ever. Our set, we
feel, will be very dynamic musically and visually.
There will be both new songs as well as twists on
existing material. Stylistically we feel we will compliment
Sons of Nothing quite well. This show should be a
wonderful evening. We've been working many hours on
our visual effects so that our "show" will
be the most creative to date. We hope you will join
us on March 11th!
One
item of note that we'd like to let everyone know about
is the theater's eatery that has been added since
our last shows. "Meltz" Gourmet Grilled
Cheese Company features a very interesting menu that
is loaded with great variety. The prices are very
reasonable as well.

Due to circumstances that
life brings on us all, we regretfully have to announce that
Scott Pringle has had to step away from his involvement
with our musical endeavors. We wish that things were different,
but we must respect Scott's difficult decision and want
him to know that he'll always be a part of the Pindral family
and the door will be open for him should life's complications
ease up to make that possible. We wish him all the best
and hope to have him involved in other aspects of Pindral
whenever possible.
As fate often has
a way of appearing just when you least expect it, we reconnected
with someone we had previously worked with a few years ago
so that Pindral remains a five-piece ensemble.
We are proud
to announce the addition of our new member to the Pindral
family, Gretchen Kunz. Gretchen is an incredibly talented
vocalist, guitarist, flautist and song writer. We are very
excited about future Pindral endeavors and all the interesting
possibilities she adds to our musical mix.
Stay
tuned for our "introductory" show with Gretchen...coming
soon. 7-29-05
We
are pleased to share a new video of one of our original
songs
Metro Spacial Groove, performed at Jama-Sonique, as well
as, a new collection
of photos. A
big thank you goes out to Scott Cleland for snapping so
many great pics!
Click on the "PHOTOS" tab above for pics of all
the Jama acts. Click on the Pindral logo
above if you haven't seen the video. There's also more video
format options
available on our music video page, just follow the link. Our
plan is to have new videos
of the show available every few weeks so keep a watch out.

Jama-Sonique was GREAT!
First,
we'd really like to thank all the performers. Thanks guys!
Next
we'd like to thank all the folks who came out to the event.
Our hats are off to you all!
All the musicians/bands performed wonderfully. Was a great
night of progressive music in Denver.
(almost)
Zed performed a really good set of jazz fusion which included
originals and covers by such artists as Al DeMiola, Billy
Cobham and Jeff Beck.
Todd
Labo wowed the audience with some amazing and classy, classical
guitar work.
We
pulled out a special computer generated visual effects show
utilizing the 40 foot movie screen the theater has behind
the stage. Our setlist was as follows:
Hall
of the Mountain King (original arrangement)
First Thunder (original)
Windowpane (Opeth)
Dark One (newest original)
Sasquatch (Camel)
Avalanche (original)
Babylon-Wot Gorilla (The Flower Kings-Genesis)
Metro Spacial Groove (original)
Court of the Crimson Schizoid Man (King Crimson medley)
The
Colorado Guitar Circle showed that they are masters of Fripp's
Guitar Craft method once again.
The
evening finished off with a powerful set from Tributary
who did mostly original tunes with a couple Porcupine Tree
songs thrown in for good measure.
Soon
to be posted will be photos and videos of the show
Please
stay tuned.

We can't believe the show
is coming on so fast and we have
been working hard on the visual aspect of our performance.
Rehearsals have been focused on coordinating the audio and
visual aspects.
We are quite excited!
Word is the other
participants have been busy as well
and have been going all out trying to help spread the word.
A big thanks to all!
We have put together
a 6 minute sampler of our originals which goes as follows:
Avalanche-First Thunder-Metro Spacial Groove-Dark One(the
newest).
See the Music page.
Bios of the other participating acts have been posted
over on our
MySpace page.
Check it out!

Spring
has sprung! Some new gear has been acquired and
we are in the throws of getting a new original tune down
as well.
Our goal is to have this and more ready for our next show.
Speaking of which, this appearance will be at the next installment
of Jama Sonique.
We have The Oriental
Theater booked on Saturday, June 24.
Confirmed acts so far are Zed, Guitar Circle of Colorado, Tributary and
of course Pindral. Tentative show time is 7:00. More details
to follow.
Also,
we have recently joined the ranks of MySpace.
Check out our page here: Pindral

We have a full length audio sample of our take on
Grieg's Hall of the Mountain King available for listening,
as well as, an updated bio and blog entries and
links to other cool bands and stuff.

We'd
like to extend warmest holiday greetings to all.
We've been trying to get together as much as
possible this Fall, but busy schedules and events like
the Colorado Art Rock Society's 3rd Annual
Prog Music Fest interfered somewhat. Larry and Jamie
participated in this year's Fest lending a hand to
an awesome performance of Jethro Tull's entire
Thick As A Brick album. This year the Fest raised
nearly $300 for the Colorado Alliance for Arts Education.
Since then we have managed to squeeze in a couple rehearsals.
The new tunes we are working out should be quite interesting.
We are looking forward to the next year.

Yikes!
Where has the time gone? Seems like yesterday we played
our
gig at Cervantes' with Mindsongs and Bubblemath. We had
a blast
and really want to say thanks to those guys and all the
people
who came out to support the show. Thank-you everyone!
Click on "Photos" tab above to view pictures.
And a very special thanks to Cervantes' for producing the
show.
The summer has had its ups and downs. In late June, Jamie's
Mom
lost her battle with cancer. Our hearts have been heavy,
to say the least, as
our thoughts and prayers have been focused on him and his
family.
Time marches on and the train is getting back on track.
A few vacations have been taken here and there helping to
soothe, nourish and refocus our creative energy.
We've managed to squeeze in a few rehearsals of late and
are really excited about our new material.
Also, the drum and percussion section has grown. Jamie has
a
brand new custom drum kit and Scott has gone completely
crazy and has now combined an electronic kit with all
his regular percussion. Needless to say things are ROCKING
down in the ol' practice space.

Rehearsals
have been going well.
With
less than one week now until the show
we are really excited about the set of tunes we have put
together
which includes some twists and turns on existing material,
a new
cover tune, as well as, a new original called Metro
Spacial Groove.
In addition, there has been some new gear added to the
Pindral sound so we should really be rocking the house!
In the immortal words of ELP, "Come
and see the show!"

begun again. We had a real good start
at our recent rehearsal this week and will continue the
journey
in the weeks to come. In addition we have started to work
on new cover tunes for our live show. Please stay tuned.

article about Jama Sonique has been published on
the
Sea

to Duncan

Believe it or not, we have asked this guy...
...Scott Pringle...
...to
join the ranks of Pindral. Why you might ask?
Good Question
Seriously,
we are very happy that he accepted our invitation
and we're proud to have him on board.
Scott helped us fill-out our live sound for the
Jama Sonique show, adding both percussion and vocals.
We enjoyed working with him and are looking forward
to our future with him as a member of our band of merry
music makers.
Welcome Scott to the Pindral family.

We'd
like to extend thanks to the participating artists:
Colorado Guitar Circle, Zed and others.
It was a true honor to be able to share the
stage with such a group of gifted musicians.
Hopefully, Jama Sonique will continue in the future as
a way to showcase the talents of the
Colorado progressive and art-rock community.
